Special Event and Public Relations Coordinator

The Special Events and Public Relations Coordinator provides support for all key functions of the Marketing and Public Relations department. The ideal candidate must have strong written and communication skills, ability to multi-task and work well with internal departments, and working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, WordPress and social media platforms. He/she will report directly to Director of PR and Marketing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Provides support for all key functions of the Marketing & Public Relations department working closely with the Creative Director and Brand Manager 
• Assists with all logistics related to special events: planning, information gathering, travel coordination, onsite signage and budget reconciliation 
• Develops written verbiage for all facets of marketing collateral including: bios and restaurant information, website, eblasts and presentations 
• Provide basic design and production support for printed collateral and digital promotions; assist in management of website corrections in WordPress. 
• Fulfills supporting role to press liaison including photography organization, written materials, asset requests and onsite executions shoots, etc.)
Other Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Assists with administrative needs of department including updating contact database, processing invoices, staff travel, etc.
• Works closely with department head on budget tracking, analyzing and reconciliation 
• Manages department platforms including communications calendar, press status, client and media databases, consumer communications
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements 
• Bachelor’s Degree ideally in Communications, Marketing or related field 
• Minimum 1 year Marketing, Special Events or related experience

Are Nut Bans Promoting Hysteria? Worries about nut allergies are intense in some circles. (Lars Klove for The New York Times) Every parent of a school-age child has heard the warnings about nut allergies. Some schools ban nuts entirely, while others set aside special nut-free tables. Parents are often quizzed about the ingredients and preparation methods for birthday treats they send to school. One parent told me she was asked whether a clean knife used to cut brownies had ever been used to spread peanut butter.
